1. What are NACCP, CUP, and CSCP?  How do they differ?

NACCP

The North American Cambridge Classics Project (NACCP) is an organization whose general purpose is to promote the study of Classics in The United States and Canada and specific purpose is to support Latin teachers who use The Cambridge Latin Course. 

The NACCP Board of Governors consists of active and retired teachers who have shown an interest in the organization and have been elected to the board.

Activities and services of NACCP include

  • Teacher Resource Center � selling supplementary materials to The Cambridge Latin Course (not published by CUP)
  • The Cambridge Listserv (Yahoo Groups)
  • A Variety of Workshops (weekend, summer, and tours abroad)
  • The Phinney-Gleason Memorial Scholarship � to be applied toward summer workshops or tours
  • Newsletters � fall and spring
  • General Membership - $25.00 annually � affords discounts in the Resource Center and a yearly free gift from the Resource Center.

 

CUP � Cambridge University Press

Cambridge University Press is the publisher of The Cambridge Latin Course, including textbooks, teachers� manuals, workbooks, and a variety of ancillary resources.  Regional sales representatives offer assistance to teachers and school districts that are interested in or have adopted The Cambridge Latin Course.

Through CUP, teachers and school districts may

  • purchase The Cambridge Latin Course textbooks and materials (including a testcrafter and e-learning DVD)
  • obtain documentation such as the Scope and Sequence and correlations to the National and State Standards
  • receive information and support during textbook adoptions
  • obtain in-service training and instruction during workshops of professional organizations.

 

CSCP � Cambridge School Classics Project

The Cambridge School Classics Project is the organization in the United Kingdom which offers support to teachers and students of The Cambridge Latin Course .  This organization is responsible for online ancillary activities and the development of the technological resources that enhance the course.  There is an annual charge to North American teachers and students for access to this website.

2. When does the NACCP Board of Governors meet?

The NACCP Board of Governors holds its annual meetings at the American Classical League Institute, held in late June.

3. How does a teacher join the Cambridge Listserv?

Teachers may join the listserv through Yahoo Groups - http://groups.yahoo.com/group/CambridgeLatin/

There, teachers may join in professional discussions and share and receive teaching materials through the archives.  Representatives from NACCP, CUP, and CSCP participate in the listserv and can answer teachers� questions.
