Summer Workshop
“A Week at the Shore with the Caecilians”
July 13-21, 2010

The 2010 NACCP Summer Workshop offers Latin teachers the opportunity to explore the neighborhood of Lucius Caecilius Iucundus. With the Vesuvian International Institute in Castellammare di Stabia as host, Patricia Bell as guide, and NACCP teachers as instructors, the tour will include extensive visits to archaeological sites and museums in the Bay of Naples area, Cambridge Latin Course classroom sessions at the Institute, and networking among new and veteran Latin educators.

The workshop includes:
- round-trip air transportation from JFK International Airport, New York, NY to Naples via Rome; airport shuttle to and from the Institute; all local bus and train transportation
- 7-nights room and board at the Vesuvian Institute at Castellammare di Stabia (three meals a day, including packed lunches for full-day excursions)
- Pompeii, Stabiae, Herculaneum, Oplontis, Cumae, Mt. Vesuvius, and the Archaeological Museum in Naples
- Cambridge Latin Course classroom sessions on teaching methodology with emphasis on culture and reading a CD containing a workshop binder and sample slideshow presentations
